Microfinance
MOJAZ focuses on progressively sustainable economic development through income enhancement and employment generation. Our Microfinance programme is geared towards achieving this objective. MOJAZ Foundation through an extensive process of social mobilization, need assessments and poverty scores focuses local rural needs and gaps. The challenges that poor are facing in the rural area are mainly access to finance, linkages with the market and opportunities for skill enhancement. MOJAZ Foundation designed its program and loan portfolio in the sectors those are relevant to the needs and have greater potential for the poorest.
The organization is running its microfinance program in Narowal with the financial support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, ORIX Leasing Pakistan & Orangi Charitable Trust. MOJAZ Foundation has disbursed Rs. 142.155 million from Oct 2008 to June 2012 with help of PPAF, OCT and ORIX Leasing in the areas of agriculture, livestock and enterprise (54 % of our beneficiaries have been women).Our recovery rate has been 100% throughout.
Humanitarian Response
Floods 2014 in Pakistan have affected badly 09 Districts namely: Narowal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujrawalan, Hafizabad, Sargodha, Jhang, Mandi Bahaudin, Sheikhupura in Punjab. Situation monitors mentioned significant threats in all Districts of South Punjab, North Sindh and Balochistan as water is moving downstream. As per MOJAZ Foundation assessments more than 150 deaths and 1,000 injuries across Punjab are recorded so far. The figures are speculated to rise as water will recede in central Punjab and enter in south Punjab, north Sindh and Balochistan.

MOJAZ Foundation immediately conducted a quick situational analysis in Narowal and Sailkot to investigate the damages. The data gathered has some limitations as most of the places affected by flood are not easily accessible.
