Laptop Scheme has been revived under Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. 100,000 laptops will be distributed among students of public sector universities all across Pakistan. 50% Quota has been specified for women in the laptop scheme.

PM’S NATIONAL LAPTOP SCHEME

​​​​​​​​Prime Minister’s Youth Program is a special initiative launched by the Government of Pakistan in 2013 for five (05) years. The Youth Program​ comprises of several schemes including Prime Minister’s Interest Free Loan Scheme, Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loans, Prime Minister’s Youth Training Scheme, Prime Minister’s Youth Skills Development Scheme, Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme for Students from Less Developed Areas and Prime Minister’s Laptops Scheme.

Prime Minister’s Laptops Scheme is for Talented Students with the main objective of this scheme is an attempt to enhance the scope of research and quality education in the country and increase the access to information technology.

Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme – Phase IV & V

​This scheme was launched in 2013-14 with a target to procure and distribute 100,000 laptops amongst the students studying in Pakistan and AJ&K. HEC was given the responsibility to devise the mechanism of distribution of 100,000 laptops after procurement through open competitive bidding.

On the directives of the Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Government of Pakistan has initiated a national program for distribution of laptops to young and bright students studying in public sector higher education institutes (HEIs) across the country and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

The scheme is part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programs for FY2013-14. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is the executing agency responsible for developing criteria, mechanism, modalities, and a road map for the procurement and distribution of laptops under this scheme.

Student must submit his/her own CNIC, mobile number and email address during the registration process, as the provided data will be used for further processing. Submitting incorrect or fallacious data may lead to the cancellation of registration.

Applicants of Govt. Degree & Postgraduate Colleges Islamabad & FATA please select the following options in order to apply:

Islamabad: Select Islamabad under “University/ Institute City” & then select Federal Directorate of Education under “University”.

FATA: Select FATA under University/Institute City & then select your Agency/ Area under University.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

​​​​​​Eligibility Criteria (Phase-IV&V)-Ongoing

The applicant must have a valid CNIC/ B-Form number.

Must be valid student as of closing date for application submission i.e. September 30, 2017.

Students enrolled till Septembe​r 30, 2017 (for new enrollments the student must be enrolled before 30 November, 2017) but not earlier than their respective program duration as per the table below:​

MERIT LISTS

​​The number of laptops which are to be distributed under this scheme is 100,000; whereas the students’ enrolment​ at higher education institutions, and more importantly “eligible students” are large in numbers. Therefore, laptops will be awarded purely on Merit basis amongst the students. Eligible students at each distribution level or group shall follow inter se merit.

Application status:

It shows the records for students who have applied in Phase 4 and 5

Applied: Student has successfully submitted his/her application for new registration.

Verified: Student record have been confirmed by the concern university focal person.

Disapproved: Student has been disapproved solely by the university focal person due to few reasons

which may include: incorrect academic details or date of admission, misconduct or administrative issues etc.

Selected: You have been selected on merit for the award of laptop.

Not Selected: The student is eligible but not selected due to limited laptop quota.

Asset Issued: Student have already been issued a laptop in previous scheme(s) / Phase(s). In case of any discrepancy, kindly contact your university’s focal person.
